Selling your car online? Don’t use Craigslist!

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, September 23, 2014

You can sell your car online to a dozen different car buying sites like Why people want to put themselves at risk to try to make a few extra bucks is unfathomable. Here is a horrible story about a student that sold his car on Craigslist and is now missing. We see dozens of scams each week where people pose as interested buyers and steal vehicles or rob people at gunpoint. The best tip we have is to avoid Craigslist, its not a safe place to sell anything that you can’t box up & mail to someone and for that we recommend Ebay.

If you want to sell your car yourself pick up the phone or submit an inquiry to an online car buying website. If you come to terms on price, they should have a process that includes a digital purchase agreement. Ask the buyer to send you his drivers license via text, if they refuse then bail and call another source. Its your car and more importantly it’s your safety!

Is Selling your Car on Craigslist a Good Idea?

Joseph Coupal - Monday, September 08, 2014

We tell hundreds of people every day…please stay away from, it’s not safe and it’s certainly not very productive. If you don’t believe us, click here to read about an actual Craigslist experience.

Here’s a recap of what happened to this lady:

• 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe
•  High miles
•  Not very much value left in the vehicle
•  She lives in Patterson, NJ, an urban area that people generally try to avoid

In the body of the article you will notice that she physically showed the vehicle 8 times over a two week period. On the final time, the vehicle was stolen on the test drive from a 3rd party location that is not mentioned in the article most likely because the publisher didn’t want any friction with that vendor because they are an advertiser. This woman is extremely lucky that she chose to let the man test drive the vehicle alone. What would she do if he drove off and abducted her? Over $1000 vehicle, this woman put herself in harms way. The motivator most likely being the allure that she can get more “selling her car herself” than selling it direct. CarBuyerUSA would have paid $1000 for a vehicle like this one. How much more could she want for it? Is that sum worth the time, aggravation and compromising your personal safety? No way!

Sell your car fast, safe and easy with CarBuyeryUSA. We come to you, we are licensed, bonded and insured.
